A cerimônia de abertura foi presidida pela princesa Chulabhorn Walailak Akra Rajakumari e contou com a palavra do presidente do Rotary International, Kalyan Banerjee. Em sua fala, permeada de vários exemplos edificadores da atividade rotária em diversos países, o presidente Kalyan Banerjee destacou a Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo como “a maior obra do Rotary International na área educacional”. Por meio de fotos, mostrando a infraestrutura das diversas unidades da Fundação e alunos em atividade, o presidente reforçou o caráter abrangente da instituição por oferecer educação em vários níveis e atender crianças surdas.
