escola para crianças surdas rio branco Project innovates the teaching of History To think and to interpret History by analyzing and handling historical pieces was the proposal presented to the escola para crianças surdas rio branco by our former student, Caio Mendes dos Santos, today an graduate student at SP City Public University (USP). With a project entitled “Man and the perception of his living space”, Caio who learnt Libras (Brazilian Sign Language), did his compulsory internship on teaching at the escola para crianças surdas rio branco. Caio Mendes dos Santos developed an innovative work with students of the Escola para Crianças Surdas Rio Branco Video for the Internal Revenue Service The escola para crianças surdas rio branco responded to a request from the Inter- nal Revenue Service Department of São Paulo and produced a video in Libras (Brazil Sign Language). The video solves doubts about filing income taxes for the year 2010, making it easier for the deaf population to access this type of information. It was exhibited at the headquarters of the Department and at seven Public Service Centers located in the city of São Paulo. The video was also shown at an Internal Revenue Service’s booth at the International Fair of Technologies for Rehabilitation, Inclusion and Accessibility (Reatech). Tribute to Rio Branco School for Deaf Children The São Paulo IRS paid a tribute to the escola para crianças surdas rio branco, at the closing of the project that informed the public about 2010 Income Tax. The school was represented by director Sabine Vergamini, Miriam Caxilé and Carolina da Costa, who were thanked for the production of the video in Libras, which was used to inform the deaf public.
