Annual Report 2011 SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Solidary Initiation Rituals Coordinated by the Atlética XX de Abril, the ‘Solidary Initiation Rituals’ welcomes the freshmen with concerts, games, cultural and sport activities and incorporates social actions to the event. In 2011, freshmen provided several institutions and their causes with displays attention and interest which manifested in the form of blood drives, visits to nursing and children’s homes, gathering and distribution of medicine and food to philanthropic entities. These actions celebrated the beginning of the college life as an invitation to the practice of citizenship values and the effective participation in other future academic projects. Teachers and directors welcomed the freshmen A Different Day The 6th edition of ‘A Different Day’, an initiative of the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, gathered students, teachers and collaborators of the Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo around the carrying out of a day of social and humanitarian actions. Volunteers from the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco, the Colégio Rio Branco, the Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco and the Centro Profissionalizante Rio Branco engaged in the project with the purpose of meeting food, hygiene products, medicine needs, etc., giving assistance to needy children, slum dwellers and abandoned animals assisted by several kinds of organizations. Other actions in the area of education promoted guidance on Communications to non-governmental organizations collaborators and musical sensitization for people with special needs. Students participated in the Social Responsibility activity “A Different Day” PARTNERSHIPS Environmental Life Wheel The ‘Environmental Life Wheel event’ was held at theFaculdades Integradas Rio Branco within the agenda of ‘Fiesp’s Environment Week’, which was carried out in all universities accredited to the ‘Produção Mais Limpa: P+L’ program (Cleaner Production: P+L) of the Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo (Fiesp - São Paulo State Industry Federation). Experts Rodrigo Mindlin Loeb, Sergio Murari Ludeman, Flavia Witkowski Frangetto and Paulo Ferreira debated issues regarding sustainable housing, urban ground drainage contention, environmental licensing and international agreements connected to the environment.
