Theater in English Students from Pre-School to the 2nd grade had the pleasure of laughing, being moved by and interacting with actors from the international educational theater group “The Performers”, based on their English skills acquired in class. The purpose of the activity was to allow students to experience the English language outside of the school environment, in a recreational manner that generates interest, motivation and positive feelings towards learning this language. International Performances Group Book Fair The Book Fair was a cultural meeting that brought student- readers closer to their favorite authors, integrating teachers, parents and children through contact with the magic of reading. In addition to book signing sessions with the authors, those that attended the Book Fair were remitted back to their childhood by means of storytelling in English and Portuguese, with the support of scenic and visual props. The Group of Young Actors and Poets of the Centro Profissionalizante Rio Branco attended the event and presented the play “Doce Perfume do Oceano Branco” (Sweet Perfume of the White Ocean), created by them. The RIA Drama Group performed a dramatized version of “A Cidade e as Serras” (The City and the Hills) by Eça Queirós, illustrating the issue of adapting literary works for theater, a theme broadly explored in lectures by several authors. Book fair integrated students, teachers, relatives and educators ROBOTICS Students from the 4th to 9th grades of Elementary School can have Robotics classes as an extracurricular activity, with the purpose of experimenting concepts connected to Physics, Math and Basic Engineering. Just as if they were actually engineers, students are encouraged to build solutions for several types of real world problems, such as, for example, a greenhouse, a miniature amusement park, combining science and the art of design. Using educational material from Lego’s Educational Division, as well as computer programs, the Robotics stimulates students to apply knowledge and skills acquired throughout time, also demonstrating the importance of teamwork in the creation of prototypes with proven use, which were presented at the school’s Cultural Fair.
