Annual Report 2011 In School and on Stage Vanessa Bruno teaches drama at the Colégio Rio Branco and directed the plays “O ovo e a Galinha” (The egg and the Hen) and “E agora João?” (Now what, João?), combining art and education in her activity. Both plays were a hit with critics and the audience, carrying, respectively, the message of the quest for answers regarding the mystery of life and reflections on the role of television in the education of children. São Paulo Circuit of Aquatic Marathons Ana Paula Piragibe Ramos Meira, coordinator of the Swimming course and Physical Education teacher at the Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco; won the 1st stage of the Circuito Paulista de Maratonas Aquáticas 2011 (2011 São Paulo Circuit of Aquatic Marathons) and came in second in the 2nd stage, Master D category. Teacher Ana Paula Piragibe CONTINUED EDUCATION Throughout the year, the teachers at the Colégio Rio Branco reflected, as a team, on ways to improve implementation of the actions laid out in the School Political and Educational Project in order to enrich the teaching and learning process, as well as learning assessment. Evaluation Group With Prof. Nilson José Machado, full teacher at the Faculdade de Educação da Universidade de São Paulo (Education College of São Paulo Public University), acting as an advisor, the group that coordinated the implementation of the new evaluation system got together several times throughout the year to exchange experiences, set goals and optimize the ongoing process. Educational Documentation In the area of Educational Documentation - a methodology which innovates in recording and interpreting ways of teaching and learning - the meetings with consultant Eloísa Ponzio continued, who discussed with Pre-School teachers how to observe the children’s work in relation to specific topics and themes in the curriculum.
