STUDENTS ARE APPROVED IN THE SCIENCE WITHOUT BORDERS PROGRAM Students from Rio Branco entered major Brazilian universities and were approved to join the exchange program. Due to her performance at ENEM, Jessica Pozzobon was approved for the program Annual Report 2014 35 The Science Without Borders program from Ministry of Education is an initiative that seeks to promote consolidation, expansion and internationalization of Brazilian science and technology, innovation and competitiveness through exchange program and international mobility. According to the Federal Government a student should score around 600 in ENEM (the Brazilian National Exam of High School Education) as prerogative to participate in the Science Without Borders program. Former student Vinicius Moya Lara, who studied at Granja Vianna unit from Elementary to High School, was studying Production Engineering at Unicamp (State University of Campinas) and was approved to join the Science Without Borders program to study at Hofstra University in Long Island, United States. According to Vinicius, the Colégio Rio Branco has contributed to this achievement. “Colégio Rio Branco has helped me not only in my personal developing, as I spent most of my life there, but also in my educational background. It was there that I got prepared for the vestibular (entrance exam to higher education) , so I could join Unicamp and embrace this opportunity.” Former student Jessica Yasmin Saito Pozzobon, who studied at Granja Vianna Unit since she was 3 years old, graduated in 2009 at 17. She studied Production Engineering at Federal University of Technology - Paraná, and was approved to integrate the Science Without Borders program at the University of Regina, Canada. According to Jessica, the Colégio Rio Branco has contributed to her achievement. Former student Rafael Zulli, who studied at Higienópolis unit, was approved in 2014 in the Science Without Borders program to study at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. The student was studying Computer Science at FEI - Industrial Engineering College.
