Annual Report 2014 79 SPEECHES ENSINO A DISTÂ NCIA RIO BRANCO MAKES A SPEECH ON IBGC Presentation to the IBGC Educational Committee. The Ensino a Distância Rio Branco coordinator, Wagner Tadeu Mendes, has made a presentation during the Educational Committee meeting of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance - IBGC. At the time, he presented the methodology used, highlighting the EAD history via internet, drawing a parallel with the appearance and development of these activities in Rio PEOPLE.NET IN EDUCATION CONGRESS The objective of the meeting was to discuss, build and disclose the educator’s role as a knowledge builder in online spaces as well. The Ensino a Distância Rio Branco coordinator, Wagner Tadeu Mendes, has attended a panel during the People.Net in Education Congress along with the educators José Valente, Adolfo Tanzi and Rainer Marinho da Costa. The themes were “Digital Educator” and “Learning Contexts Coordination”. At the time, he spoke about the training of teachers-authors to generate content for the distance platform. According to him, on EAD Rio Branco, there is a process for training educators who already work in the institution to develop contents appropriate to not presential format. Regarding the Tutoring role in the Ensino a Distância Rio Branco, the tutor is also who generates the course content. As determined by the Ministry of Education, the assessment process should consist of an onsite assessment (more than 50%), and each institution is free to define how the remaining part should be assessed. On EAD Rio Branco, the student evaluation is held on every proposed activity through the students’ participation, w h i c h i s considered a great strategy of motivation. Branco.
