HOUR OF THE PLANET For another year, Colégio Rio Branco joined the WWF Network campaign and encouraged the students to participate on the Hour of the Planet. The action is a global awareness movement about global warmth, in which everyone turns off the lights for one hour at a scheduled day. Surpassed the limits of the school, Rio Branco also stimulated the participation of parents and family, reinforcing the importance of participating and registering the moment. During the week, teachers and students of Pre-School and Elementary School discussed the importance of participating in the movement and extending the responsibility of the planet’s future to the everyday life, with sustainable actions. In a partnership with Reaja Group, several boards were settled with pictures of the families that participated in the Hour of the Planet. Students will yet elaborate a project to promote the awareness of Rio Branco community regarding the correct trash disposal, to avoid the water pollution and the flow impossibility. The Water Network Program is dedicated to the monitoring of the water quality, the social movement and promotion of public policies to the participative and integrated management of the people involved, with actuation in the preservation of hydrographic bays and of the Mata Atlântica. Campaign collected used socks Students of Elementary and High School joined in a campaign of collection of used socks, which were transformed in blankets and then donated to institutions that shelter children in need.
