WORKSHOPS 24TH AND 25TH WRITING AND READING The Writing and Reading Workshops gathered students from the Professional Learning Programs. The meeting subject was ‘The power of words’ and was based on the narrative history from the movie ‘A Thousand Words’. After a part of the movie has been played, the students made a reading and analysis of the text ‘The Word’ from Pablo Neruda, relating it to the movie and to their lives and discussed about the importance of word’s choice and dialogue, and the difference that it can make on people’s lives. The four main operations – division, multiplication, addition and subtraction applied on groups interactive activities. Following this step, the students were instigated to solve several everyday’s problems in a group activity involving mathematical, logical thinking and mental calculations.
