Howard Gardner and Esther Carvalho Annual Report 2014 29 FUTURE OF LEARNING PROGRAM The program promotes important insights on how the dynamics of society transforms the learning process. The Colégio Rio Branco General Principal, Esther Carvalho, attended the Future of Learning program, by Harvard Graduate School of Education in the United States. The program has the objective to enable educators to understand the society changes that are transforming the young adults lives around the world. Globalization, digital revolution and advances in the understanding of human biology are seen as opportunities and challenges. The program, BETT 2014 Reference in the field of educational technology, the event brings together companies and startups to reflect on innovation and perspectives for the area. The Fundação de Rotarianos de São Paulo, through its international benchmarking actions, was at Bett 2014 held in which was conducted by leading researchers in the educational area of Harvard, as Howard Gardner, David Perkins and Veronica Boix Mansilla, focused on some issues such as: what is known about globalization, digital revolution and mind/brain and its influence on learning and education; What should be done differently to meet the demands of the future; What consequences educational changes bring to students and society; and What is the responsibility of educators to the XXI century. London, England. The event was attended by the Rio Branco Distance Learning Coordinator, Wagner Tadeu Mendes, and Foundation Information Technology Manager, Wagner Macedo. The professionals could attend lectures, research groups and visit interactive booths, experiencing several innovative technological solutions for educational field. The lecture delivered by the Secretary of State for Education in England, Michael Gove, was the high point. The speaker expressed the need to reformulate educational content, the importance of learning programming languages, and the investment in training professionals with scholarships.
