THEATER STUDENTS PRESENTED MUSICAL THEATER SHOWS “Grease” performed at the Higienópolis Unit “Grease” and “Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” were the plays performed by the students to friends, family and educators. The famous Broadway show, which was box office success around the world in the late 1970’s, reflected the same success in Colégio Rio Branco. “Grease,” idealized, produced and performed by students, alumni and teachers of the Higienópolis Unit, delighted the audience, who could feel the golden age of rock and roll. The performance of the musical involved a six-month rehearsal process of singing, dancing and acting, and several workshops carried out by teachers to contextualize the society of that time. The play “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” was also staged. It was produced and performed by the students of Granja Vianna Unit, with special participation of students from 44 Annual Report 2014 Higienópolis Unit. They had the support of teachers and educational consultancy. According Caio Mendes, teacher and director of the play, at the beggining of the year the students have already submitted the proposal to stage the play; they had studied the story and invited others to join the group. The group also had the support of teachers from different areas who helped them understand the period portrayed and construction of settings and costumes, besides singing rehearsals. “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” performed at the Granja Vianna Unit
