RIO BRANCO THEATER GROUP PRESENTED MEMORIES IN GREEN AND YELLOW Students worked hard on research, meetings and rehearsals to stage the play. The Rio Branco Theater Group Annual Report 2014 45 performed the show “Memories in Green and Yellow”, based on the Brazilian play “Bailei na Curva”, by Julius Conte, marking the 50th Anniversary of the Military Coup in Brazil. The play was directed by Vanessa Bruno, teacher and actress, and co-directed by teacher Livia Vilela, and was conceived by the group members. It represented important historical events from 1964 to 1984, Rio Branco Theather Group DIPLOMATIC SIMULATIONS STUDENTS IN SIMULATED ACTIVITIES OF DIPLOMATIC ENVIRONMENTS RBMUN, MINIONU and Harvard Model Congress Latin America stimulated the critical view, citizenship as well as negotiation and argumentation skills. With the theme “ Fighting historical exclusions”, diplomatic simulations of RBMUN Junior (Negotiation University Model) were carried out in partnership with the Faculdades Integradas Rio Branco International Relations course. Students from Colégio Rio Branco Elementary School 9th grade to High School 3rd grade participated and could discuss important issues on the international agenda. Three Committees were present at RBMUN: General Assembly of the United Nations - In Recognition of Palestine as Independent State; Organization of American States – End of the Economic Embargo Against Cuba; Unesco - Women’s Inclusion in Politics and Education. All those present actively par t icipated in the discussions, raising questions and suggesting agreements. Students also par-ticipated in the Model Uni ted Nat ions, a project developed by the Catholic University of Minas Gerais, and by its International Rela-tions Department. The activity played an edu-cational and cultural role, which allows students to develop their awareness and understanding of the international events. At the Harvard Model Congress Latin America, in a project carried out by undergraduate students at Harvard University in the Human Sciences field, students were involved in foreign policy debates related to public administration, economy, social welfare and security, playing roles of the most important world leaders. such as the movement “Diretas Já”, a popular moviment demading the direct elections for the country’s president. The show featured music, images and historical costumes. In the presentations, the student-actors interacted with the audience, showing all their hard work and dedication.
