COMPLEMENTARY PERIOD ART AND REFLECTION In order to stimulate the realization of artistic productions among students, Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco promoted ‘Art and Reflection’ classes. Students of the 2nd and 3rd year of Elementary School, oriented by deaf teachers Cristiano Koyama and Fabiane Spinetti, participated in the activities. The Art and Reflection Classes aim at stimulating and encouraging children to appreciate and produce plastic and visual artistic manifestations, such as drawing, sculpture, painting and modelling. By experiencing the various techniques, children entered in contact with renowned artists and their productions. The activity stimulated artistic production SEMESTRAL EXPOSITION OF WORKS AND PROJECTS Students from the 2nd to the 5th year of Elementary School of Centro de Educação para Surdos Rio Branco hold, at the end of each semester, presentations of the works and researches made during the activities of the Complementary Period. Comprised of three lines of work – mandatory activities (research projects and mathematic games), optional activities (theater, dance, recreation and storytelling) and Pedagogic Support Nucleus, the Complementary Period proposes activities in which students have the opportunity of living and interacting with children of different classes and ages. In the first semester, with the supervision of teachers, students of Research Projects presented videos and exposition of pictures Students presented their projects developed in the Complementary Period about Science in Action, Fruit, Our World and Photography. The video ‘People who live inside us’ was shown by the Storytelling Group, and the Pedagogic Support Nucleus exposed their works and productions. 2013 Annual Report 103
